Design

TIPI4x4 cabins are entirely manufactured in our workshop in Canet en Roussillon !

Featuring an egg-shell type structure, the TIPI4x4 cabin is made from CTBX poplar plywood. The panels are custom-cut to the precise dimensions of your vehicle while maintaining a common base for all 4x4s on the market. The panels are then mounted on a frame of battens, screwed with A2 and A4 stainless steel screws, and glued with PU D4 adhesive.

Insulation

In your TIPI4x4, you won’t have to worry about the heat or the cold.
We use wood, a natural insulator, as well as an insulating material composed of 23 layers, equivalent to 12 cm of polyurethane or 20 cm of fiberglass.
The interior is finished with a decorative lining for added comfort.

Manufacturing Process: Strength, Lightness and Aerodynamics

The TIPI4x4 cabin is covered with a fiberglass fabric, reinforced with bi-axial fabrics, and finished with a speckled gelcoat.

This manufacturing process, used in shipbuilding for over 40 years, has proven its qualities of strength, lightness, and longevity.

One of our main concerns is the weight distribution within the cabin, ensuring that you feel no difference when driving your vehicle. The TIPI4x4 cabins are designed for maximum aerodynamics, both frontally and laterally, to improve air penetration and reduce drag on the moving vehicle. This significantly limits the fuel consumption caused by the weight of the cabin.

The lightweight nature of the TIPI4x4 cabins (from 200 kg to 380 kg) and the use of 3 lifting jacks allow a single person to load the cabin onto the truck bed in just 20 minutes!

You no longer need to worry about the risks related to wear and tear or the repeated handling typically associated with pop-up roofs.

  • Condensation and mold: the fabrics and materials of pop-up roofs often create an atmosphere conducive to condensation, generating mold and unpleasant odors.
  • Cumbersome handling: the repeated opening and closing of a pop-up roof can quickly become tedious and time-consuming, in addition to requiring constant maintenance.

Bedding

The 10cm thick mattress with a density of 38kg is covered with a microfiber cover and Velcro fastenings. For your comfort, the TIPI4x4 cabin includes a table and 2 benches that transform into a sleeping area for 2 people.

The main bed, located at the bottom, measures 2 meters long by 1.30 meters wide and provides back and head support for reading. The upper bed measures 1.90 meters by 1.24 meters.

Equipment

The TIPI4x4 travel cabin is also equipped with a 50L compressor fridge, a lightweight 3000W stove that allows you to cook outdoors and at high altitudes, a sink with pressurized cold water, an exterior showerhead, and a dry toilet. (Optional features include a water heater, heating system, lithium battery, etc.)

Installation

Installing the TIPI4x4 cabin on your pick-up bed is simple. It requires no structural modifications to the 4×4 chassis, nor any type of homologation.

The TIPI4x4 cabin is compatible with all types of pickup trucks, including Defender 110 and 130, Toyota pickups, Mitsubishi L200, Nissan Navara, Ford Ranger, Raptor and F150, Volkswagen Amarok, Isuzu D-Max, RAM, and Mazda, whether they are single, extended, or double cab models. To begin with, the outdoor shower is included as a standard feature in the base design of all our travel cabin models. A practical and functional option for those who enjoy refreshing outdoors while staying close to nature.

For those seeking extra comfort and privacy, the Grand Voyage cabin is equipped with a rigid shower cabin, featuring generous dimensions (70 cm x 80 cm). This ensures a true moment of relaxation, even in the heart of your adventure.

 

The Removable Shower: A Clever and Flexible Solution

For those seeking an alternative option, we have designed the removable shower, a lightweight and quick-to-install solution. In just one minute, you can transform the interior space of your cabin into a fully functional shower! Simply attach the waterproof canvas to the four designated anchor points and connect the hoses for drainage into the gray water tank.

This system offers several benefits: the canvas is lightweight, dries quickly, and most importantly, keeps the interior space of the cabin free when the shower is not in use – a flexible and practical solution!

For example, the poplar used for the walls and furniture of our cabins comes from French forests that are responsibly managed and certified for their environmental respect. The gelcoat and polyester, which are part of the composition of our cabins, represent less than 15% of the total weight of each model, thus reducing the ecological footprint of our products while maintaining their strength and durability.

In our workshop in Canet-en-Roussillon, we have taken the initiative to install photovoltaic solar panels, enabling our site to operate entirely on solar energy. This installation provides us with energy autonomy for the production of our cabins and contributes to a significant reduction in our carbon footprint.
